Notes for Richard Bourne
Richard Bourne was born at Bobbingworth, Essex, England about 1564. He was the son of William Bourne and Margaret Ryse.[1] William and Margaret had eight or 10 children. Richard, the 7th child, was baptized 18 Jun 1564. Richard Bourne of St. Michael's Parish, Cornhill, London, married about 1600 Judith Cowper, daughter of John Cowper and Elizabeth Ironsides. Richard Bourne, a grocer, died, age 69, at Cornhill St Michael, England on 11 Mar 1632. He was buried at St. Michael's, Cornhill, London: "Burials - Mr. Richard Bourne, grocer, deputy; in the night, a boughte 12 a clock of the nighte."[2] His estate was administered 8 Apr 1633 "to his relict Judith Bourne."[3]
On her husband's death, Judith Bourne married secondly, Thomas Hill. According to a detailed history of her grandson, James Masters, Judith Hill died at Fulham, , England about 1653. Judith left James "£5, in token of remembrance."[4]
