Libby

The Bunins are from Slonim, Belarus. Slonim was Polish, Russian and Lithuanian at different times in its history.

Notes from Stuart and Bobbie Abbey:
Libbie Bunin was born and raised in Cleveland. September, 1909 is on a chart
Rachel made for a school project years ago. If I recall, Libbie said she was
born on the eve of Yom Kippur that year. Ben Bunin was the eldest of the
three children was born before the family immigrated to US early 1900's,
probably around 1906. The family came from Slonim. Simon was a couple of
years older than Libbie--so maybe 1908.

Ben and Belle had two children, Sanford and Carol. I may be able to find out
more about them all from Carol and family. Sanford is deceased, and Carol is
the widow of Harold Trattner, a realtor in the eastern suburbs. Carol and
Harold's children are Marsha, Laura , and Robbie .

Simon and Betty Bunin had three boys, Shelby and twins, Nelson
and Alan. All three followed in their father's footsteps and became physicians. S
helby lived Bath Township OH, near Akron. Nelson was practicing in California
when we saw him at his father's stone-setting. Alan and his wife Ruth settled
on Mercer Island near Seattle.
