Stuart’s notes

Ellen Lois married Sam Bierig 1966 or so, three children, Danny , Michael and Jody . Know Jody married rabbi in Israel. Had three children, then had twins, remember this because she complained Arabs in Israel breed like rabbits. Danny and Michael married, unknow wives or children’s names.

Sam’s family from Stuttgart, pre-World War II maybe 1930s. He has two brothers in meat business , Bierig Bros in Vineland NJ. Another in computers and a sister Tessie married to cab medal owner or two in Staten Island..

Met some relatives of Edward’s family when I was a kid, they include Grosses and Cohens, but can’t recall first names. Some in NYC, some in Cleveland. Beatrice Herzog lived in Brooklyn in 1950s. Elizabeth was in Cleveland, married to Ben Wolfson. He died, can’t remember who she remarried, but some contention about family heirlooms. Two daughters, Eileen and Viola, married man named Sandy lived in New Orleans, worked for social welfare agency. Viola had no children, Eileen had Eliot and Anne .

Bernie married Ethel, had son Harlan in Batavia NY , newspaperman, and sister Barbara in Vineland, married to neurosurgeon. Harold married Mary, unknow children, think they lived in Pittsburgh. George married Lenore Schulman , they lived in Akron, son Alan moved to Florida; daughter, can’t remember name, down there also, wife of another non-practicing rabbi.

In Brooklyn, family gathering included blonde or reddish-haired man from Baltimore who was researching story that family was related to original archbishop of Maryland who died leaving vast estate and Abbey family is entitled to some of it, but he needs funds for research.

But then there is story that Bobbie’s family is elated to an English pirate so black sheep even out.
