Reuben or Ruben is found with Jordan Evans in the 1860 census. At that point in time, he is 72 years old and a free black man working in Mecklenburg. We assume he is Jordan’s father although he could have been an uncle or grandfather.

Reuben is listed as passing in 1870.

I believe Omey Valentine is Ruben’s sister or an in-law and Lucy is Ruben’s daughter.
