Hugues XII de Lusignan was a French nobleman and Crusader knight.

He succeeded his father, Hugues XI, as seigneur de Lusignan, Couhe, et Peyrat, Comte de La Marche and Comte d' Angoulême in 1250.

On 29 January 1253-1254, at Fougères, he married Jehanne de Fougères, daughter of Raoul III, seigneur de Fougères, and his wife, Isabelle de Craon.

They had six children:

===Isabelle de Lusignan, who became a nun at Fontevrault.

Hugues XII de Lusignan died in 1270, during the ill-fated seige of Tunis of the Eighth Crusade. The Crusaders had landed on the coast of Tunisia in July 1270. Much of the army became sick because of poor drinking water. On 25 August, King Louis IX of France, who led the Crusade, died from a "flux in the stomach"; his son John Tristan had died of dysentery on 3 August.

Wide-spread disease caused the siege of Tunis to be abandoned on 30 October 1270, by agreement with the sultan, Muhammad I al-Mustansir.

It is unclear to me whether Hugues XII perished as a result of illness or from battle wounds; most accounts do agree that he was brought back to France and buried at the royal abbey of La Couronne.

His eldest son, Hugues XIII de Lusignan succeeded him.
