John Rice of Dedham was Born May 2, 1630 where a baptism certificate was found at N. Walsham, Norfolk England, listed was the Mother, one Margaret Rice ca 1618 daughter of Perrott ap Rice 1598 and Margaret Littleton . The Father of John Rice 1630 is stated to be John Perratt II 1565 son of Sir John Perrott 1528 of Carew Castle granted to Sir John By Queen Mary Tudor. Sir Johns 2 known sons by Sybil Johns/Jones his mistress were listed as: Sir James Perrott, William Perrott and John Perrot age 15 at their time of entry to Grey's Inn, Oxford 1580, but all three boys names were listed as his sons. Sir James inherited the estates of Havorford West in Wales and William became Choir-master to a local church predeceasing his brothers and father. The last known record of John Perratt II 1565 is a notation that he was salvadging a French Merchant Vessel in August 1529 9months prior to the birth of John Rice in May of 1630, At Havorford West, which is about 30 miles north of the Ap Rice holdings at Tenby, Wales BUT only 7 miles from Carew Castle. The child was given to a fundamentalist family to raise due to the age of Margaret, and they in turn emigrated to MA. 1638 with their 7 children leaving John Rice behind in the Care of Perrott ap Rice in 1638, according to my father's testimony just prior to his death in 1978 at age 93.
