Notes by Don Latham12/98

Siward was very young when he was confirmed Earl of Lathom. He wasonly 19 years old. He was mainly confirmed Lord of Lathom, because of the ceaseless efforts of Lord Henry De Chester, Jr. Siward was confirmed Lord of Lathom on 11 Nov 1092 and married his wife only 11days later. It is said never having known his own mother, Siward became very close to his father. He was said never to gotten over his father's death. He also couldn't get over his wife's and 2 daughters deaths, and committed suicide by hanging himself. Because he committed suicide he wasn't allowed to be buried in the graveyard at the Chapelry Of Lathom. Instead he was buried in unblessed ground outside this cemetery.
