He married Hawise de Lovaine, daughter of Sir Mathew de Lovaine and Muriel .4,5 Sir Philip Basset, Justiciar of England married Ela Longespee, daughter of Sir William Longespee, Earl of Salisbury, Sheriff of Wiltshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Somersetshire, Devonshire, Shropshire, & Staffordshire and Ela of Salisbury, circa 23 March 1254; They had no issue.9 Sir Philip Basset, Justiciar of England died on 29 October 1271; Buried at Stanley, Wiltshire.9
