Daniel Lovett was in Salem in 1638, but came to Braintree where he was granted 12 acres for three heads on Feb.24,1639/40 with his mother, name unknown. This grant was on north side of Monatiquot River on present Elm St., Braintree probably as the land of Daniel Lovett is referred to in S.D. 5-455 as a boundary in 1648 when Richard Thayer Sr. sold his lands. Also on Sep.30,1650 Daniel Lovett "had lett unto him 60 akers of land at Braintree, lying at the end of Mr. Houghs Farme and out the side of Capt. Keynes Jr., for 10/a year..... to the treasurer of Boston". This land, was north of present Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. He married between Sep.1644 and Mar.1645
