Excerpted from the chapter on Lieut. Timothy Nash in The Nash Family:[4]
Rebecca Stone, daughter of Rev. Samuel Stone of Hartford and Unknown , married Timothy Nash by 1657[2] at New Haven, and they had two children there. Timothy and Rebecca remained in New Haven to care for his father, Thomas, until he died. The last mention of Timothy in New Haven is a fine for absence from a town meeting in 1660.
Rebecca and her growing family then moved to Hartford, where her father was a minister. They lived in Hartford for about three years. After Rev Stone died in 1663, they moved farther up the Connecticut River to Hadley, Massachusetts, where they finally settled. It appears that Timothy was both a blacksmith anhttp://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Research_Notesd a gunsmith, and he may have been recruited to the new settlement because of those combined skills. They remained in Hadley for the rest of their lives.
Timothy died at Hadley on 13 March, 1698/99. Rebecca lived for ten more years. Their children were:
Rebekah, born 12 March, 1657-8 at New Haven; died young, probably at New Haven.
Samuel, born 3 February 1659-60 at New Haven; died at Hadley, 1668.

Joseph, born 27 January 1663-4 at Hadley; died unmarried 28 March, 1740.

John, born 21 August, 1667 at Hadley; settled in Hadley.
Samuel 2, born 17 June, 1669 at Hadley; died unmarried 3 May, 1738.
Hope, born 26 Nov. 1670 at Hadley; married Isaac Warner.
Ebenezer, born 25 Oct. 1673 at Hadley; settled in Suffield, Connecticut.
Daniel, birth about 1676, at Hadley; settled in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.
