Note 1:
My Harts begin with John D. Hart, born March 13, 1816 in Fayette Co. PA. On
June 5, 1834 he married Margaret Taylor, who was born May 17, 1816 in
Fayette Co. PA. they were married by the Rev. James College. apparently
the Taylor family moved to Richland Co. OH in 1834, and John and Margaret
Hart went with them. William, one of John D.'s sons writes in his diary
that "grandfather Hart was a native of Pennsylvania, and
grandmother was a native of Germany, emigrating to Pennsylvania when a small
girl. they were married, lived and died in that state. My maternal
grandfather and grandmother Taylor were both natives of Pennsylvania, also,
and in that state all of their children were born."

In 1835 or 1836, John D. and Margaret moved to Knox County and settled in
Pleasant Township near the Hopewell church. Again, William's diary says
"they moved to Knox County in 1835, locating one mile southeast of Gambier,
near what was then known as the Squire Foot Mills, and afterwards known as
the Burford Mill" they lived here until 1853 when they moved to Noble
county, IL, either in or near Avilla. Margaret died in November 1854. John
married again, a woman named Mary Hamlin. John died in October, 1864.

Note 2:
John and Margaret relocated from Fayette County, PA, to Ohio a year after they married. They settled first in Richland County for one year, then moved on to Pleasant Township, Knox County. In 1853, they moved to Noble County, IN, where they lived the rest of their years. Page: Biographical sketch of William T Hart; p 685
