Notes for Samuel MARSH:
1.Samuel Sr moved in 1764 to Economy, Colchester County, Nova Scotia with his family and is considered the founding father of Economy.
2.Compend of American General, 1st family of Amer, V$, p.477 Samuel moved to Economy, Nova Scotia in 1764; helped American prisoners escape from British ship in the American Revolution
3.They found very rich land in Nova Scotia, but one of Samuel's grandsons told E.J. Marsh at Portland, ME that his grandfather was never sorry for leaving MA but once, and that was from the time he left till he died.
4. First settler in Economy and was Magistrate
Deeded lot #22 to his son Elijah who had been living in Boston.The deed was dated 1796.
5.He served as Sargent in Capt. Peter Thayer's Co., for the relief of Fort William Henry in 1757.
6.Land of Point Conomie granted to Robert Charles, Samuel Marsh and Patrick Hill on June 18, 1774.
