Notes for Ethel Daisy Hanson
"Anthony:
Most of my Fordice family lived in Tama Co., Johnson Co. and
surrounding counties. My branch of Fordices
settled around Shueyville, Johnson Co., Ia. In later years my great
grandmother Daisy Hanson Fordice lived with her daughter Ruby
Fordice Morehouse in Marion, Ia by Cedar Rapids, until her death 24
Aug 1973 at the age of 98. Her 1st husband was Benjamin Deen
Fordice, third child of John Kennison Fordice and Mary Jane Fowler's
5 children. John K. married a second time to Martha J, Loughery and
they had 4 children.

I have12 children born to Stanton Fordyce, Sr and Susannah Marsh.
They are William, Harriet, Stanton Hunter, Jr ,Daniel, Lucy, John, Sophronia , James, Henry, Robert, David and Elijah.

I have Stanton Fordyce, Sr. b. Parrsborro, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, 9
Apr 1777. d. 1840 Bloomington, McLean Co., Ill. However, I have
children 4-12 born in Morgan O. Ohio. It appears that when John K's
first wife died he moved to McLean Co., Ill again. They all died in
Ia. I know John K., Benjamin Deen, his wife Daisy , Ben's half
sisters and brothers and two or three of his children are burried in
the Shuyeville Ia cemetary. I visited there about three years ago.

I know John K. lived in Ill before the Civil War as he joined the
Union Army, 39th Ill. Infantry in 1861. I have copies of his papers
from enrollment, to hosptials to discharge. He lost a leg and had
other wounds that kept him hospitalized for almost a year.

I have history of Fordyces to 1684, Stantons back to Charlemagne,
Lewis back to 1200's. I am in
the process of buying a new computer. Mine is very old and very
slow. When I get set up with the new one I will be able to put all
the info I have on cd. Hopefully, I can get it done in the next year
and I will send you the stuff I have. I'll be in touch.
-Sherry"
