The youngest child. After the death of his mother, his father brought him to America.

He married four times. He married Sarah Lewis before Oct 1711. Sarah
was born in Westerly, Washington Co, RI 17 Aug 1687. Sarah was the
daughter of Samuel Lewis and Joanna Crandall. At 23 years of
age James became the father of John Fordyce in Westerly, Washington
Co, RI, Oct 1711. At 24 years of age Sarah became the mother of John
Fordyce in Westerly, Washington Co, RI, Oct 1711. James deserted
Sarah Lewis soon after their son, John, was born.

He married Mary in near Westerly, RI. Mary became the mother of James
Fordice in S Kingston, Washington Co, RI, 2 Jun 1714. Mary became the
mother of Abigail Fordice in S Kingston, Washington Co, RI, 14 Mar
1717/18. At 26 years of age James became the father of James
Fordice in S Kingston, Washington Co, RI, 2 Jun 1714. At 30 years of
age James became the father of Abigail Fordice in S Kingston,
Washington Co, RI, 14 Mar 1717/18. He moved to CT after Mary bore him
James and Abigail.

He married Esther Sanford in CT, about 1718 .

He married Abigail Darling in CT, 21 Sep 1741. Abigail was born in
Jamaica, Long Island, Queens Co, NY 1688.
